Uganda Police Strips a Female Opposition Politician Naked!
Let us Say the Manner-less Uganda Police
On October 10th, 2015, Ugandans witnessed another episode of
police brutality and impunity as Officers of the Uganda Police Force arrested
members of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC). Police Officers used
excessive force and in the process, they ripped off Zaina Fatuma Naigaga's
clothes. Zaina is a Member of FDC's Executive Committee. It was was simply embarrassing and humiliating to the female leader and to all women and indeed humanity. I have never since discovered the words to use in condemning such an act. But acts such as those are uncommon with the militaristic and lawless Uganda police. Methinks those crooks are real something else.
Call Them the Brutes they Are
A friend of mine from elsewhere in Africa watched with horror and disbelief how the
Uganda police stripped a female politician, Zaina Naigaga naked! Since I had lived and worked in Ugnada and she knew me, she sought my opinion on the incident. And so she asked me whether I thought those
policemen were capable of rape. My answer was simple and straight. "How can you ask me
if savages are capable of savagery?"
