The Reason for United States' Poor Response to Intra-State Conflicts Abroad Lies Elsewhere

Intra-state conflicts and wars aren't new emergence neither are they in any way unique to some parts of this world (especially Africa). It is a pity that some people actually can afford to think that certain countries like the United States have always been what they are today. I recently had a conversation with someone who totally and completely does not understand the history of the United States yet he has the courage to talk loudly about it. I have no idea the source from which some individuals draw confidence. The guys persistently argued that the United States responds so poorly to conflicts elsewhere because it does not understand those conflicts. Thus far I agreed with him since indeed we have numerous incidences where the US responds poorly because of poor understanding of internal conflicts abroad.

But this guy was not to stop there. He went on to argue that the reason the US doesn't understand intra-state conflicts in other countries is because the US itself has never experienced any civil war. Now at that point I could not help but wonder where the young man dropped from. Another problem is that he was not humble enough to accept correction. Now, I know I hate people who are arrogant at the level of ignorance. If you belong to that category it is only important that before you footnote some countries like the US, kindly try to understand their histories. In 1860 through to 1864 there was a bloody civil war in the US in which over 600,000 people were killed. Only a fool can imagine that the US responds poorly to civil wars in Africa and other parts of the world because it has never experienced such. The answer to the US's poor response to conflicts anywhere lies elsewhere
