Why Kisii was Heaven; A Land of Free Milk
Thinking about milk. Folks, forget this
refrigerated tasteless milk. There is something magical about fresh warm milk
direct from a cow’s udder. You can ask those of us who grew up in the village
and enjoyed it. And it was free. The trouble came when a colonizer invaded our
land; disrupted our economy and introduced his purported ‘free market economy’
which ended up replacing our truly free market with a ‘free’ (non-free) market.
As a result, milk is no longer available fresh and warm from the udder, it is too expensive and never fresh. Now,
the same people who disrupted our way of life where milk also brought to us a
religion that promises us a heaven where there shall be free milk. Was our
village with free fresh and warm milk not heaven already? There is reason why
people in our part of the world had songs praising cows and other animals for
giving us milk; there is reason why we were hardly sick and malnourished.
Malnourishment is a gift of the ‘free market economy.’
