Stop developing things; start developing people

How exactly do things like access to and control of much and/or more resources, enhancement of individual property rights, individual ownership and control of means of production etc really contribute to solving of the problems of the global common? Let’s, for example, grant the hypothesis that the quest to lift humanity out of poverty actually works in the next century. And so each of the 7 billion souls in this hard earth is transformed into a millionaire in terms of the amount of private property they own and control. Would that amount to better life, better humanity and better world? If your answer is no you have a right to go slow in listening to people who talk about developing things and start engaging in conversations on developing people - values.
